Some Advice for a prospective film student.

1. Make or create films
2. Be part of a crew on other people’s films
3. Go to theaters and watch new and old films.
4. Watch films from renowned directors preferably in theaters, or on DVDs and pay attention to the director’s cut that are on DVDs.
5. Read and immerse yourself about films.
6. Get involved in theater at school, clubs, or outside. Trying acting, directing, and doing technical work behind the scenes.
7. Write, alot! Write scripts, poems, newspaper ariticles and short strories.
8. Doing photography is helpful.
9. Join a local film society
10. Volunteer at a local film festival
11. Become a reporter or film critic for your school paper.
12. Go to summer camps which have film programs.

Basically, what you should do is immerse yourself into art and film.
