SAT IIs: Subject Tests
The SAT IIs: Subject Tests are one hour multiple-choice tests, testing on individual subjects. Some colleges require or highly recommend that you to take SAT IIs to help them consider you for admission, but many also do not. The more selective colleges usually require you to take a SAT II: Math test as well as another subject test of a student’s choice. The Writing test was often previously required but it has now been discontinued. Engineering schools mostly likely would require a science subject test and prefer Math level IIC test.
A student may take up to three SAT Subject tests on any given date, which are the same dates as for the administration of the SAT Reasoning Test. Not all the subjects are offered at each test date, you should check collegeboard.com for details.
