Tips and Suggestions to find those hundreds of elusive Scholarships that are out there.
Scholarships or merit aid can be given by the Universities or Colleges directly. Most Colleges or Universities consider you automatically for all the scholarships that you qualify for when you send in your application.
There are also many scholarships given by many outside sources which you can apply for. Many alumni organizations give scholarships if you choose to attend the school. To find more scholarships and where you can apply to, you should ask your high school counselor.
It is wise not to wait till until your senior year to begin searching for scholarships. Although most scholarships are only for seniors, it’ll be an advantage for you if you find out about these scholarships ahead of time. You will be able to position yourself to fulfill all the requirements for various scholarships (i.e. improving GPA, community service, leadership roles, or develop a “hook” which makes you unique).
